Please note: Opening up to your teenager about you Please note: Opening up to your teenager about your traumatic childhood can be a powerful opportunity for connection, healing, and modeling emotional resilience. However, it’s essential to approach this conversation with intentionality, care, and emotional boundaries to protect both your child and yourself.

It’s important NOT to make your child your emotional caretaker. Share to build understanding and not to seek comfort or validation. Your goal is to model vulnerability and truth, not to burden them.

Your honesty is a gift, not just a confession. When done thoughtfully, these conversations plant seeds of empathy, emotional intelligence, and generational healing.

Additionally, our faith is one of MANY layered ways in which we process the world and our place in it. And prayer is how we invite God/Jesus into tender spaces. To each their own, this may look different for others.

Please note that this is a small snippet of a long conversation and countless other private conversations.
