For many of us, success wasn’t modeled—it was *hustled for*. We grew up navigating survival, figuring things out as we went, and (hopefully) unlearning patterns that no longer serve us.
Now, as professionals, parents, mentors, and leaders, we’re in a unique position: We’re not just building careers or building up the next generation—we’re breaking cycles. We’re creating environments where emotional intelligence, boundaries, and intentional decision-making are the norm, not the exception.
On my social platforms and in my coaching, I often discuss what it means to re-parent ourselves or to be intentional about socio-emotional health while striving for success. Interpersonal growth and ambition do not need to be separate journeys—they can go hand in hand.
I’ve been reflecting recently (amidst the chaos of the world and the deep sense of uncertainty many of us are fighting to keep at bay) on how my personal growth, my story, and my journey influenced the way I lead—at home, at work, and in my community. I’ve been reflecting on what serves me well and what I need to release to grow. And it has helped recenter me. I encourage you to create space this week for a bit of reflection.
