On this day 2 years ago, my father had JUST died. On this day 2 years ago, my father had JUST died. My half-siblings were terrorizing my mother, who had just spent years of her life caring for my father, who was 20 years older with early-stage dementia. We were cut out of everything, and my sisters and I knew nothing about his funeral. I leaned into the family I created. The people loosely connected by blood were cruel, but I had joy. I shared some of that joy in a candid video & the response blessed us immensely and changed our lives. A video I recorded thee same day went VIRAL on Musical Theatre social media and beyond. Mourning turned into laughing. We hung out with Netflix’s CEO, traveled first class to NYC, and spent time with Broadway stars. My son signed with an agency, and his dreams started to come true. A season of loss, grief, gratefulness, joy, and hope unfolded at once. So much can change from one day to the next. I will never forget how leaning into love and making space for joy with my community of friends and family created so many unexpectedly wonderful moments for me when I fully expected to be in the darkest season of my life. My life is a miracle, like every life is. I am a first generation everything oldest daughter who struggled with extreme bullying at school and battled suic*idal ideation as a child. That version of me got to grow and heal and break free from what felt like neverending hopelessness. And I got to raise self and children in a safe, empathetic, and supportive space. Thank you to everyone who has shown us so much kindness, openness, vulnerability, and joy in our comments, emails, and DMs on this journey. There are so many valid critiques of social media, but y’all are the best part.

It involves an acute longing for emotional reciprocation, but has an undertone of suffering that results from unfulfilled needs or uncertainties.” Experts believe similar to OCD and addiction, limerence may develop as a result of trauma, insecure attachment, and stressful life events. Also, I doubt a single quote would “cure” Limerence in most people. Overcoming it is a journey rooted in investing in your mental and emotional health. And on the opinion: “can tell how much a woman loves herself based on the partner that she chooses.” I find this to be a deeply problematic statement for several reasons, including it ignores - how society significantly influences how individuals choose romantic partners through a complex interplay of (cultural, social, economic, etc.) factors, influencing individuals’ preferences, expectations, and opportunities in romantic relationships. - that partners can lie or dramatically change. So let’s not plant the idea that people, women specifically, are in not-so-awesome romantic relationships, simply because they hate themselves.
