Sponsored by Power Rangers because we are real ones…
One of my fondest childhood playground memories is role-playing Power Rangers. Picking our favorite Ranger and acting out an epic battle during recess. And decades (how?!) later, my kids are the newest generation of Power Ranger stans. My husband and I each have our own individual memories of patiently waiting for the newest weekly episode. He had his own memories of pretend playing Power Rangers in the yard of his childhood home with his cousins. Power Rangers gave us countless hours of entertainment and joy while fueling our own imaginations.
Fast forward years and a new generation later, and our children are experiencing their own joy from the Power Rangers franchise. Free from the constraints of the 90’s and early 2000’s technological limits. The joy of watching Power Rangers any time they want and for as long as they can. My son and daughter have been binge-watching multiple seasons of Power Rangers on Netflix for years now, over a decade to be precise.
For this reason, we had to jump on celebrating Power Month (August). Y’all – It’s Morphin Time! Power Month recognizes all things Power Rangers. We especially need to acknowledge and get hype on the 28th, for #NationalPowerRangersDay. On 8/28, waaaaaay back in 1993, the first Power Rangers episode was released. How am I a whole wife and mom with kids when I was just the Yellow Ranger on the playground in elementary school? Time is lying to us. I refuse to believe it has been this long.
